While you are a patient at Atherton Endoscopy Center our highly competent and professional staff will care for you. Everyone from the receptionist to the Physician embraces our philosophy of patient focused care. Above all our staff is friendly and concerned for your comfort.

The Nursing Staff

All of our nursing staff receive extensive orientation and training in the field of Gastroenterology. The clinical expertise of our Registered Nursing staff is unparalleled. Our nurses have an average of 16 years of nursing experience and 8 years of endoscopy experience.

A Word About Our Scopes
At Atherton Endoscopy Center we take your safety very seriously. Our facility utilizes the latest technology in endoscope reprocessing. We use an Olympus DSD automated endoscope reprocessor to disinfect all of our scopes. This very expensive piece of equipment utilizes multiple feedback mechanisms to assist our staff in ensuring all of our scopes are cleaned to perfection.

We follow the 2003 Multi-society Guidelines for Endoscope Reprocessing. These guidelines are supported by the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the Society of Gastrointestinal Nursing Association, and APIC (Association for Professionals in Infection Control).

Our clinical staff is highly trained in endoscope reprocessing. Our dedicated reprocessing technicians attend specialized seminars by Olympus. In addition to new employee training, all staff must undergo periodic re-training and competency testing to be sure that all scopes are cleaned thoroughly and safely.
